Description
Coffee from jose arce’s farm in chirinos district, san ignacio province, cajamarca — the third-largest coffee region in northern peru, located entirely in the andes. Ideal growing conditions with high altitudes, jungles, fertile soil, and an average temperature of 24 °c.
Jose arce diaz started with 0.5 ha and now cultivates 2 ha. He uses “surtido” planting — a mix of caturra, catimor, and bourbon varieties to balance quality and disease resistance.
After harvest, cherries were washed and processed by chacra coffee company — a new producer founded in 2023, specializing in post-harvest coffee processing.
“chacra” means “small farm” in peruvian spanish, but to its founders, it represents a source of food and support for the community. Chacra works exclusively with dedicated coffee producers — mostly friends and neighbors.
