Description
This coffee comes from Finca Ambera in Pitalito, Huila — one of the most dynamic specialty coffee regions in southern Colombia. The region is situated between the Andean mountain ranges at an altitude of 1300–1900 m.a.s.l., where the cooler climate and volcanic soils favour slow cherry ripening and the development of dense, high-quality coffee.
Pitalito is particularly known for its producers who experiment with fermentation processes and post-harvest processing techniques, while maintaining a clean and well-defined cup profile. Many of the farms in this area are small family operations, where special attention is paid to selective picking and manual processing.
Coffees from this region are often distinguished by their clean profile, pronounced sweetness and complex fruit notes. These characteristics have made Huila one of the most important origin regions in the contemporary specialty coffee scene in Colombia.
