Description
The Nuevo Oriente region, located in eastern Guatemala, is known for its mineral-rich metamorphic soils and its cool, rainy climate. These conditions allow the coffee cherries to ripen slowly, resulting in high-density beans and a refined sweetness.
Coffee is mainly grown on small family farms that preserve traditional and sustainable practices. One of the region’s key producers is COUNISA, active since 1988 in coffee production, processing, and export, and a frequent jury participant in the National Cup of Excellence competition.
